Whole House Fans and Attic Fans by Colorado Home Cooling

Colorado Home Cooling is a small, family business specializing in whole house fan and attic fan sales and installation.

Whole House Fans are the most efficient and cost-effective way to cool a home in our fantastic Colorado climate.  Whole house fan systems move a large volume of air through the entire house, work to equalize the temperature throughout the home, push super-heated air out of the attic, create a cooing breeze through the rooms in the home, and replace the hot air trapped in the home.  The fans use a very low amount of power, and many of our customers save hundreds of dollars each month on their electrical bills when they use a whole house fan rather than air conditioning.

A Whole House Fan System consists of Two Parts – the Fan & the Attic Ventilation

1: The Fan– We match the size of the fan system (with airflow measured in cubic feet per minute or ‘CFM’) to the size of your home.  We start by multiplying your above-ground square footage by 3 to find the CFM target for your fan system.

2: The Attic Ventilation – We match the ventilation in the attic (as measured in net free area of ventilation) to the airflow from the fan.  For every 750 CFM of airflow moved by a given fan, your attic should have a minimum of 1 square foot of net free ventilation.  This is the ventilation ratio that is provided by our fan manufacturers to ensure the fan’s best performance, low noise level, longevity and warranty.

For Maximum efficiency, we recommend adding a Powered Vent or Attic Fan to the system

This fan is roof or gable mounted and is controlled by a thermostat. When the whole house fan is not running, the Powered Vent, or PV, pulls hot trapped air out of the attic.  When the whole house fan is running, the PV serves as a very effective outlet for hot air.  When used in conjunction with a whole house fan, you have created the most efficient and effective home and attic cooling system available.

We have been in business since 2003 and have installed thousands of fan systems for our extremely satisfied customers all over the front range of Colorado.
